Laboratory Supervisor (Chemical Lab)

Soelect has developed an advanced lithium metal composite anode that, when combined with a solid-state or liquid electrolyte, significantly increases energy density, power and safety while also lowering manufacturing costs through our patented material design and proprietary processes.
Position Brief
• Laboratory Supervisor (Chemical Lab)/ Research and Development Department
• FT Position: 40hrs per week / On-site M-F / Greensboro, NC.
• Safe, Clean, and Dust Free Work Environment
• Salary range: Salary range is $ 55,000 to $73,000, but negotiable and will be based on experience.
Qualifications
• Minimum B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
• 5 years of relevant work experience with material/chemical processing, part assembly, testing in laboratory environment.
• Previous hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory is required.
• Previous hands-on experience working with a glove box is required.
• Previous hands-on experience working in a dry room is required.
• University laboratory and/or industrial hands-on experience with chemical synthesis and material processing, and device assembly is required.
• Attention to detail with high accuracy.
• Ability to learn technical skills in a short period of time.
• Exemplary safety record and proven commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Day to day laboratory, project, priority and resource management (technician performance reviews, on-going feedback, coaching, development planning, and action); oversee training and cross-training of team members to meet work standards and progression.
• Communicate with researchers to clarify expectations and timelines for requested work
• Maintain laboratory equipment and tools in clean, safe, and good operating condition.
• Prepare lithium, foils, and laminates for R&D and customers at the gram to kilogram scale
• Follow preventive maintenance procedures and notify maintenance personnel of any equipment repairs and malfunctions.
• Conduct laboratory tests according to equipment specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Order and stock laboratory supplies and instruments.
• Work with other Technicians to complete laboratory tasks within assigned timelines.
• Develop new laboratory procedures or enhancements to improve test quality and productivity.
• Follow proper waste disposal and recycling methodologies.
• Accurately document and report on laboratory experiments.
• Utilize graphs and charts to present the test results to managers.
